THE BIG C was created by Actor/Producer Christian Jon Meoli in July of 2005 to bridge the delicate and sensitive matter of cancer. THE BIG C is a performance series giving those who have experienced cancer an opportunity for creative expression of their stories through solo performances, music, dance, short films, poetry and other mediums. These performances are created with the assistance of writers and directors from the Los Angeles theatre community who have worked hands-on to develop these important stories.
Every performer in the THE BIG C has personally been affected by cancer either experiencing it personally or through a loved one. It is this passion that drives the artists desire to share their creative works in a way that offers hope, inspire, healing and oneness. Meoli is no exception. He was inspired to create the event while he cared for his mother Saundra during her four year battle with Cancer. In 2005 Meoli began THE BIG C Foundation to continue a focus of education/outreach on the subject of cancer. THE BIG C is sponsored by Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.
