The Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center Diabetes Program involves collaboration of the physicians, pharmacists, nurses, dietary and laboratory personnel to improve hospital stay outcomes by controlling hyperglycemia through intensive glycemic control. Hospitalized patients with diabetes also benefit from a comprehensive bedside education program.

In addition to diabetes support services for hospital patients, Hollywood Presbyterian also offers outpatient classes for pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

Held every Tuesday, these classes provide the most up-to-date information about the importance of optimal glycemic control during pregnancy. Participants receive information to help prevent the need for medication by managing their condition through nutrition and exercise. Physician referral is required to participate in gestational diabetes classes.
