Fetal Therapy Phone: (323) 361-6074 or (800) 687-2229 Fetal Therapy Web: www.maternal-fetalhealth.com Over the past few years, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the University of Southern California (USC) have worked collaboratively to form the Institute for Maternal Fetal Health (IMFH) at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. The mission of the IMFH is to improve maternal and fetal health outcomes and the quality of life for families through integrated, multidisciplinary clinical care, in an atmosphere of compassion and respect. As part of the IMFH mission, Dr. Ramen Chmait, Medical Director of Fetal Therapy and Minimally Invasive Fetal Surgery, performs operative fetoscopy and other innovative fetal surgeries at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. A wide variety of fetal abnormalities may be treated while the fetus remains in the womb, including: • Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) • Acardiac twins (TRAP sequence) • Fetal lower urinary tract obstruction • Fetal cystic lung masses • Isoimmunization (and other causes of fetal anemia) • Alloimune thrombocytopenia • Amniotic Band Syndrome • Iatrogenic preterm rupture of membranes • Select congenital heart defects
