Maricelda Matias Considers CHA HPMC Staff as Her Second Family After Delivering Four Babies at the Hospital

Six years back, Maricelda Matias delivered her first baby at CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. Little did she know that she would deliver all four of her babies at the same hospital. “It’s all about the nurses,” she says without second thoughts. During her first delivery, Matias felt welcomed by the nursing staff and was amazed by the caring atmosphere.

“Since the time I stepped foot in the hospital for my first baby, I felt I was the ‘center of attention’. The nurses told me A to Z about birthing and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. Another thing I really like is that they keep the baby with you always and encourage breast feeding which is the best for my baby.”

For each of her four deliveries, Matias had her own private room at the hospital which she shared with her own family. In these six years, Matias has found a ‘second family’ in the nursing staff and formed a close bond with them. So much so that she knows some of them on first name basis.
